Christian Singer Joins Cast of Upcoming REAGAN Biopic

Moriah Peters-Smallbone will star in the upcoming Ronald Reagan biopic as the legendary Cocoanut Grove singer Loyce Whiteman.
“We are thrilled to have Moriah join us,” REAGAN Producer Mark Joseph told The Christian Post. “She brings grace and class to this important scene and we’re excited to have her on board.”
Peters-Smallbone, the wife of for KING & COUNTRY’s Joel Smallbone, will join award-winning actor Dennis Quaid. Quaid will portray Reagan.
The movie sees Penelope Ann Miller as Nancy Reagan, Jon Voight as a KGB agent who tracked Reagan for 40 years, and Mena Suvari as Reagan’s first wife, Jane Wyman, on-screen with Peters-Smallbone and Quaid.
“There was something about Reagan’s benevolence and humanity that is so admirable,” Peters-Smallbone said. “To bring back to life that kind of leadership is so relevant but more personally, being a part of this project feels like an homage to my grandfathers.”
Peters-Smallbone continued: “One revered Reagan and the other played in a big band much like the one I had the privilege of performing within this movie.”
Director Sean McNamara and writer Howard Klausner also lead the way in production for REAGAN.
This is not the first film collaboration between Quaid and McNamara. The duo worked together on the faith-filled movie SOUL SURFER.
Quaid also starred in SOUL SURFER and was nominated at the 2012 Movieguide® Awards Gala and Report to the Entertainment Industry for the Grace Award for Most Inspiring Performance of 2011.
SOUL SURFER was also nominated for the Epiphany Prize® for Most Inspiring Movie.
Jonas McCord and Howard Klausner adapted the REAGAN script from books The Crusader: Ronald Reagan and the Fall of Communism and God and Ronald Reagan: A Spiritual Life, both written by conservative author Paul Kengor.
McCord directed THE BODY, which won the $25,000 John Templeton Foundation Epiphany Prize for Most Inspiring Movie of 2001.
