After his brother’s suicide brought his life to a halt, Nathan Davis Jr. was only able to find hope for a better future after receiving comfort from the Lord.

“My mom came in my room and said, ‘You should write a song about your bro.’ She got me therapy, spiritual guidance, prayed for me,” Davis Jr. told Relevant Magazine. “And then God came in my room and said He loved me. He hugged me. He said, ‘I want you to start making music for me.’”

Davis Jr. has not looked back since, fully placing his trust in God and allowing Him to have his way with his career and future. Rather than writing music to get rich or famous, Davis Jr. writes it to glorify the Lord, and allows God to do the work with it as He pleases.

“I don’t go into the studio unless I talk to the big man upstairs,” he said. “We have a one-on-one conversation. I pray. I want to make music that shows God’s love, that reminds you you’re not perfect, but through God’s eyes, you’re always perfect. He loves you no matter what.”

Davis Jr. is part of a group of multiple Christian musicians who have found great popularity while remaining true to their faith. Another similar artist is Forrest Frank who has been able to connect with younger audiences through social media while sharing the good news of the Gospel. Frank collaborrated with Davis Jr. on the song “Woke Up This Morning.”

“The very first video that I filmed of it just went completely viral,” Frank said. “And so I took another video of it, and that one went viral… It wasn’t like I was a genius or did anything. I just kind of took a swing, and God completely blessed it, and it was completely beyond me.”

Frank has since had multiple hits that have reached millions of listeners while teaching them about Biblical truths. His most recent hit, “Lemonade” ended up becoming the No. 1 song across all genres and discusses the way that the Lord uses all things for His good.

“Positive music is like a dessert. And if someone gives you a piece of chocolate cake and it’s one note, it’s only sweet, it’s gonna be too rich. And after a bite or two, you’re gonna be like, this is too much. But if you add a little salt in there, and all of a sudden, the cake has disappeared and you’re like, ‘Hey, look over there,’ and you’re eating their cake too. You know what I’m saying,” Frank said when discussing the song.

It is amazing how the Lord is moving through social media and allowing Christian artists to find amazing success while impacting a generation who is open to faith, Praise the Lord for the success of artists like Davis Jr. and Forrest Frank.
