Kelly and her husband, André Murillo, welcomed their son, Zayden Michael Murillo, on Nov. 11, 2025.

Her newest album, God Must Really Love Me, was born out of a deep sense of gratitude after Zayden was born.

“I thought people were just saying, ‘He’s gonna love your voice,’ because I’m a singer, and I kid you not, he has a crazy reaction,” she told PEOPLE of her son’s response to her new album. “Anytime I put it on, he could be crying or fussing, and he’ll just stop whatever he’s doing.”

Kelly admitted that this new album was an opportunity for her to “celebrate a season of joy and happiness” while she dove headfirst into motherhood for the first time.

“I was just so overwhelmed with inspiration. I’ve never felt anything like that before,” she explained.

Before the album was released, Kelly shared on social media how much “peace” she felt in the midst of a chaotic time in her life.

“It’s always busy (& somewhat chaotic) when releasing an album, but I feel soooo much peace going into this one. I’ve been doing this for a while now, but I still get those butterflies like I did when I put out my 1st album 11 years ago. like…I get to make art about my life & release it into the world?? A dream. Insanely grateful!!!” she wrote on Instagram.

God Must Really Love Me is a 14-track album not only about the deep love Kelly has for her son but also God’s immense love for His children.
