DWTS Pro Jenna Johnson ‘Grateful’ for Season 32 Experience

By Movieguide® Contributor

DANCING WITH THE STARS pro Jenna Johnson opened up about how much she enjoyed her short time on season 32 with her partner Tyson Beckford.

“We just had an incredible time together,” she told Parade. “We had great banter; we would laugh so much. I’m really grateful that I got to experience the season with him.”

Johnson shared a photo of her and Beckford on her Instagram after their salsa dance. She wrote, “OMGGG It’s LATIN NIGHT and Tyson just killed our salsa. I wish you could have seen how insanely hard he worked for this routine. Every day he practiced nonstop and I couldn’t be more proud as his teacher and partner!”

After the “MoTown” themed night, Johnson wrote, “This was a tough week for us. Emotionally, mentally, and physically exhausting and really challenged us to keep our spirits high during the process. I truly wish you could be a fly on the wall and witness the most endearing student that my sweet partner is. His drive to get the details perfect and understand what is expected from him in every dance makes my heart soar. I’m so grateful to have this experience with him and witness what genuine HARD WORK looks like.”

Even though her celebrity partner is out of the competition, Johnson will return each week to perform in the opening number.

“Hopefully once there are fewer couples, we’ll be able to do some specialty numbers,” she said. “So, I’m looking forward to those.”

Johnson also wants to choreograph some dances of her own. “I love choreographing. It’s a huge passion of mine. I’m definitely hoping that maybe with some of the theme nights coming up, I’ll have a chance to choreograph,” she expressed.

However, Johnson’s husband, Val Chmerkovskiy, is still competing. With a little extra free time, she can spend more time at home with their son, Rome, and help her husband with his moves.

“He is very good at what he does, but he does value my opinion when it comes to styling for his partner,” Jenna explained. “And so, I am definitely on board to be their support and if he needs anything from me, I’m there. I would love to see him bring home the Mirrorball Trophy this year. Especially since he was so close last year. I feel like we’re having a repeat of what I did with Nev Schulman and JoJo Siwa. But I’m hoping that instead of getting second place two years in a row, he can win it.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Johnson:

DANCING WITH THE STARS’ Jenna Johnson is opening up about balancing her career and motherhood.

“It’s an adjustment for sure, but it’s so rewarding,” Johnson told PEOPLE. “I think I’m so excited to be back on the show. And then getting to come home to my sweet, chunky baby is just a dream. So I feel I truly have the best of both worlds right now. It’s exhausting, but it’s so worth it.”

Johnson and husband Val Chmerkovskiy welcomed son Rome in January of this year.
