Everything We Know About Mike Rowe’s New Series with Angel Studios

Mike Rowe is shining more light on the world’s most overlooked but crucial jobs in a new series releasing through Angel Studios.
“The people in the Angel Guild know exactly what they like, and I’m both flattered and grateful to learn that SOMEBODY’S GOTTA DO IT has been so well received,” Rowe said. “Each episode features Americans who are driven to do what matters most to them.”
“Inventors, mad scientists, do-gooders, dirty jobbers patriots, and regular men and women whose hobbies got a little out of hand,” he continued. “They’re all here, and I’m really excited to share these stories with such a likeminded audience — along with some new content that’s before.”
The first two episodes released over Veterans Day weekend and celebrated the inglorious jobs that keep our military running smoothly. Other new episodes will continue to release every Friday.

Along with highlighting the men and women who keep our country running smoothly, Rowe’s mission is to help young people understand there are multiple roads to success. In 2008, he created the mikeroweWORKS Foundation to provide funding for people seeking to enter into trade schools rather than attending traditional four-year college programs. In recent years, his foundation has provided millions in funding.

“[College is] more expensive than it’s ever been, but it’s also more expensive than health care. It’s more expensive than real estate. It’s more expensive than energy,” Rowe said. “Never in the history of Western civilization has a thing become more exponentially expansive faster than the cost of a four-year degree. That’s fact. If that doesn’t make you angry, then I don’t know what [will]. It’s bananas.”
“We’ve told an entire generation that the best path for most people is the most expensive path,” Rowe continued. “And we’ve also promoted college not on its merits, but at the expense of every other kind of degree of any kind of certification training.”
“My foundation focuses on the millions of jobs that are available that don’t require a four-year degree. We offer a couple million bucks a year in work ethic scholarships. We’re doing it right now,” Rowe added.
