New Documentary Shows Adults Encouraging 4-Year-Old Boy to Announce He’s a Girl

Conservatives blasted a new HBO documentary called TRANSHOOD after a viral clip showed a group of adults leading a 4-year-old biological boy to announce he prefers to identify as a little girl publicly.

According to Time: “The new HBO documentary TRANSHOOD, out Nov. 12, follows four transgender children and their families over the course of five years.”

Watch these adults push a toddler dressed in rainbow clothing to publicly announce that he is a girl named “Phoenix” who would “prefer she and her pronouns.”

The one-minute video—which made its rounds on Twitter and Facebook—shows the boy named Phoenix dressed in a rainbow skirt. He is led to the stage by his mother at a religious-like ceremony. The documentary depicts the crowd celebrating people who choose to identify with a wide range of sexual orientations.

Once on stage, Phoenix receives a microphone but is too nervous to make the public declaration.

“I’m a little shy,” the boy said.

His mother replied: “You’re a little shy? Do you want to tell everybody if you’re a boy or a girl?”

In response, Phoenix said, “I just want to tell them that I’m a girl.”

“OK,” replied the mom. “Phoenix would like you to know that she’s a girl and she prefers ‘she’ and ‘her’ pronouns.”

After the announcement, a person dressed in robes handed a pink flower to the boy and led the crowd in a ceremonial send-off: “May you be well, safe, and whole. We honor you exactly as you are.”

At the time of the video clip, Phoenix is 4 years old. HBO began filming the documentary series three years ago. Since then, Phoenix identified as a “girl-boy,” then chose to identify as female, before his declaration as a male at age 7.

Abigail Shrier, author of the new book “Irreversible Damage: The Transgender Craze Seducing Our Daughters,” discussed transgenderism as it relates to children with Daily Wire’s Ben Shapiro.

“One of the key parts in all of this is ‘affirmative care,’ which may be the most sort of horrifying medical scandal of our time,” Shrier told Shapiro. “That is that every medical accrediting organization told doctors that the standard only with regard to gender dysphoria — so just with this one ailment — is to affirm the patient, to agree with the patient’s self-diagnosis. Absolutely to hand over the judgement and the prescription pad to the patients with regard to this ailment.

“So you have a population that is completely self-diagnosing, that is able to demand, you know, effectively the course of treatment and they’re getting that treatment on what’s called an informed consent basis, meaning you walk into a gender clinic and you sign a waiver and you walk out that day with a course of testosterone, and of course, even young girls are doing this — even minors,” Shirer added.

This is unacceptable. Parents should encourage children to find their identity in Christ and not in secular agendas.
