Tauren Wells Shares Secret to Abounding Joy: ‘Redemption for Your Life’

Singer Tauren Wells shared a powerful reminder that joy only comes from the Lord and cannot be found in the things of this world.
“The beautiful thing about Jesus is He chooses His words very wisely. The last word of the Old Testament is curse; the first word out of Jesus’ mouth in a public setting in recorded scripture is blessed, and He tells us how to be blessed, how to be joyful,” Wells told TBN.
“The crazy thing is where He chooses to preach. We know it’s the Mount of the Sermon, you know, the Sermon of the Mount, the beatitudes, but it’s actually Mount Aramis,” he continued. “Aramis means desolate, isolated and strength. So, Jesus chooses a desolate, isolated place to tell people where to find true strength.”
As the holiday season comes to an end, the post-holiday blues can set in as the routine of life returns. However, Wells reminds us where we can find true joy that is not fleeting like the things of the earth.
“[Jesus] doesn’t point them to anything external. He doesn’t point them to things, to notoriety, to platform, to significance; He points them inward. ‘Joyful are the pure in spirit.’ Joyful is from the inside,” Wells said.
“Maybe you’ve been like I’ve been in seasons of my life where I’ve tried to find joy in all the wrong places. Maybe you’ve tried to find joy in a relationship, joy in a promotion, somehow, joy is always right around the next corner, the next destination. Can I tell you that you are joyful, you are blessed, the curse has ended,” he continued. “When you look at your spirit and say, ‘though I am unworthy and I have little to offer, Jesus has called me son. Jesus has called my daughter. And I get to be a part of His eternal plan to bring redemption to the world,’ which means redemption for your life.”
Jesus is an endless fountain of joy. We should turn to Him for hope, strength, peace and life as we head into this new year.
Wells is kicking off his year with the launch of his Church of Whitestone. The first service is on Jan. 28.
“We want our church to be a place where you can answer the big questions in life about identity and purpose and find a place to belong no matter who you are or where you are on your faith journey,” the church posted on Instagram.
“Through the planting of a vibrant, life-giving, community of faith, Church of Whitestone, we are assuming our calling as Lead Pastors of the church that God placed in our heart more than 10 years ago,” Wells and his wife Lorna wrote. “The vision is clear, ‘helping people discover their God-authored identity through whole hearted relationship with Jesus,’ and the time is now.”

Grammy award-nominated artist Tauren Wells opened up to his fans on Instagram to explain the message behind his song “Crazy About You.”
“Have you ever considered just for a moment that the God who shaped the heavens and the earth, stretched out the expanses of the universe, was actually willing to lay down all of his majesty and power in the person of Jesus Christ so that you could spend eternity with him?” Wells wrote in an Instagram post.
“The thing with Jesus is that he didn’t start from the bottom,” the singer continued. “He actually started from the top and went low so that he could get to you because you are that valuable to him.”
