TODAY show co-host Carson Daly shared an update on his friend and colleague Sheinelle Jones as she’s been absent for the show since December.

“I don’t know anything about when or timeline [for her return], but we always think about her,” Daly said in an interview with Entertainment Tonight.

He added that they talked with Jones “probably every day.”

“We’re wishing her well, and she’s spending much-needed time with her family. That’s probably just take its course, and there’s so much love going out to her,” Daly said.

The last update from Jones was on January 15. She posted on her Instagram, “Hi everybody…I sincerely appreciate all of you who have reached out while l’ve been absent from the show. I want to share with you that l’m taking time to deal with a family health matter.”

“It’s not lost on me how lucky I am to have not only the support of my Today Show family, but to also have all of you. Your kindness means so much to me. I’ll see you soon,” Jones concluded.

Dylan Dreyer also spoke of Jones’s absence, saying, “We chat with her often. A week doesn’t go by where we’re not checking in, seeing how she’s doing. We pray for her all the time, we can’t wait for her to come back, so we’re just waiting for that day to come.”

“The TODAY show is a family and we take care of each other, we love each other,” Jenna Bush Hager said of the camaraderie on the set.

“The fact of the matter is, we’re so grateful to all the fans and viewers who’ve been praying for her and praying for her family, and [she’s] just taking it one day at a time,” Al Roker echoed.

Before she took time away from the show, Jones’s book, Through Mom’s Eyes: Simple Wisdom From Mothers Who Raised Extraordinary Humans, released in October.

The book is “an inspiring collection of heartfelt life-lessons from hard working moms who raised some of our favorite celebrities, like Steph Curry, Shaq, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lady Gaga, Matthew McConaughey. The Wahlbergs, Tyra Banks, Thomas Rhett, Rob Gronkowski, the Jonas Brothers, Jessica & Ashley Simpson, Serena and Venus Williams and so many more,” the host wrote in a post promoting the book.

“In addition to their moms, many of my friends contributed lessons they learned from their mothers — including Billie Jean King, my today show fam, chef Marcus Samuelson, Andy Cohen, Colin Jost, Mario Lopez, CeCe Winans and so many more,” Jones added. “It truly is my love letter to mothers. I also talk a lot about my journey — from growing up in Kansas…to the TODAY Show.”

There is no telling when Sheinelle Jones will make her return to the TODAY show, but one thing is certain: her friends and colleagues check up on her daily. Continue to pray for Jones and her family as they navigate this time.
