More Detail:

The first three episodes of Season 1B of BARNEY’S WORLD, streaming on Max, explore important topics for children like not getting overwhelmed by a big project, deciding how to play together, and what to do when you miss someone. Each episode features a fun song children will love!

In Episode 11, Vivie helps her grandma work in the park’s garden. The garden needs a lot of work, and Vivie wants to make it perfect for her grandma. She calls her friends Mel, David, and Barney to help, but the project is still too big, and Vivie gets discouraged.

After a quick adventure in which the children become butterflies and help ladybugs escape from squirrels, Vivie realizes small actions can make big things happen and decides to keep working on the garden. They ask others to help with the garden, and it soon becomes beautiful again.

Episode 12 sees the children disagreeing over what game to play. When they call Barney to help them decide, he says they can play both games at the same time. However, Barney finds himself stretched thin as he runs back and forth, and soon, no one is having fun. David talks to Barney and apologizes for asking him to do too much, telling him it’s okay to say “no” sometimes. The children combine their games and play together.

In Episode 13, David and Vivie are worried—they haven’t seen Mel at the park in a few days and don’t know where she is. Barney joins them in their search, and the trio ends up going to Mel’s house. Her dad tells them Mel broke her arm and has been resting, and he’ll bring her to the park later.

As the group waits for Mel to come to the park, David realizes he doesn’t want to play without her, as he misses her so much. They throw a party to welcome her back to the park and surprise her when she arrives with cake and a soccer game.
