More Detail:
REDEEMING HOPE is an evangelical drama on Amazon Prime. Inspired by true events, it follows the story of a man named Denver McCabe, a military team leader who lives with the PTSD caused by an intense firefight with Arab terrorists that killed one of his best friends. Denver abandons his marriage, becomes a homeless alcoholic and drug abuser, and starts working for a criminal identity theft ring.
When he’s at his lowest point, a neighborhood evangelist arrives just as Denver is about to commit suicide. Will he give in to permanent despair, or accept the Gospel and find new life in Jesus Christ?
Produced by Remnant Ministries and the Gospel Film Project, the vast majority of REDEEMING HOPE relies almost completely on narration by Denver to explain the drama happening onscreen. However, the narration is well-written and movingly delivered by actor/co-writer Stacey Shiflett to keep viewers engrossed in the storyline. Also, the climactic scenes between Denver and the evangelist are undeniably moving, and a touching musical score helps the movie immensely.
REDEEMING HOPE has a strong, inspiring Christian message. It promotes redemption, reconciliation, salvation, deliverance, and recovery through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
There’s no foul language or lewd content in REDEEMING HOPE, but it has some strong battle violence. It also depicts drunkenness and heroin use in a negative fashion. These images and themes make this a movie that’s more suitable for older teenagers and adults, the very audience that probably will be most moved by it. Besides Amazon Prime, REDEEMING HOPE is available for free to any church or Christian group interested in showing it.
