CBS Drama ALL RISE to Film Episode using Zoom and FaceTime

By Allyson Vannatta, Staff Writer

The CBS drama series ALL RISE will use Zoom, FaceTime and WebEx to shoot an episode of the show while practicing social distancing.

“It’s a unique chance for our ALL RISE family to band together – in our different homes, even cities – to tell a story about resilience, justice and the power of community,” said executive producer Greg Spottiswood.

This is the first attempt to try and film a primetime scripted series via video chat while following the stay-at-home orders.

However, since the episode will bring in the current situation involving the COVID 19 pandemic, it could work well.

Many other companies are using the tools mentioned above to work from home. Churches across the country are also using different live stream tools to have service on Sundays. Even schools are embracing the technology to continue to teach students.

However, this technology isn’t always good.

Movieguide® previously reported some school districts have banned the use of Zoom due to hacking.

The article warns that users of Zoom have reported people hacking their meeting to show pornographic content and racial slurs.

Now more than ever it is so important people use media wisdom with any kind of technology they’re using, not just when they are consuming entertainment media.

As for the entertainment industry, it will be interesting to see how shows and movies choose to move forward and produce content during the lockdown.

Now more than ever we’re bombarded by darkness in media, movies, and TV. Movieguide® has fought back for almost 40 years, working within Hollywood to propel uplifting and positive content. We’re proud to say we’ve collaborated with some of the top industry players to influence and redeem entertainment for Jesus. Still, the most influential person in Hollywood is you. The viewer.

What you listen to, watch, and read has power. Movieguide® wants to give you the resources to empower the good and the beautiful. But we can’t do it alone. We need your support.

You can make a difference with as little as $7. It takes only a moment. If you can, consider supporting our ministry with a monthly gift. Thank you.
