A broken bone might just lead to a collaboration between Christian artists Crowder and Forrest Frank!

“Alright, Forrest has responded,” Crowder said in a recent Instagram video, referring to the song he and Frank have been “collaborating” on via social media. “This is too fun.”

The video shows Crowder listening to Frank perform the song, which includes lyrics like, “If He can use some kid that’s lost in Colorado, Boulder // to raise an army full of soldiers // What else won’t He do?”

“Aight! I’m sold!” Crowder captioned his post. “When should we drop this thing? @hiforrest?!”

The social media back-and-forth began after Crowder broke his leg earlier this month, writing on Instagram, “I’m not near as athletic as I thought I was, I’ve broken my leg and had to have emergency surgery including some plates and screws…I’m on the mend and we will figure out how to get back there as soon as we can!”

He tagged Frank, who responded in a post of his own, saying, “David Crowder has broken his leg, and apparently, I am the broken bone guy, because he tagged me in his post saying that he broke his leg.”

“Not to be cliché, but God is turning lemons into lemonade always, if you will allow him to,” he continued. “Anyways, as I’m looking at this post, I’m thinking, you may not be able to stand out of your bed, but you can stand on the rock of Jesus Christ. So I started a song. If you want to be a part of it, let me know. If you have some tweaks, if you have some notes, let me know. But here’s kind of the general direction.”

Frank has his own experience recovering from a broken bone — and exploring the situation through music. He fractured two vertebrae in his back earlier this summer after falling off of a skateboard.

He wrote about the experience in a newly released song, “God’s Got My Back.”

“God’s got my back // Even when I fall or get attacked,” the lyrics read. “God’s got my back // Even when I’m low and full of lack // God’s got my back // Even when my soul is full of sorrow // I don’t have to worry about tomorrow.”

Earlier this month, Frank shared his healing process with fans, telling Instagram followers he was making a miraculous recovery.

“i’m pretty much convinced God would’ve healed me day 1 from all these prayers, but He wanted these songs & this testimony come to life,” the singer wrote. “Regardless, i’m here for it all…ruined for the ordinary. THANK YOU JESUS.”

There’s no word yet on when we can expect this new collaboration between Crowder and Frank, but fans are happy to see both artists turning their broken bones into art!
