Disney Actress Under Fire for Speaking Out About the Truth

Actress Natasha Ward came under fire from her STATION 19 co-stars after she stood up to defend biological truth and women. STATION 19 is an ABC show owned by Disney.

“When ‘your truth’ trumps ‘the truth’ and forces me to pretend that it’s not a lie, we have a very real problem,” Ward wrote on a recent Instagram story. “Supporting trans freedom does not mean it’s OK to violate the rights of biological women.”

“Pretending that trans women are not men who have a biological advantage, and therefore place an undue burden on biological women, is make believe and it is not science nor fact,” Ward continued. “In the long run, women will have to take illegal substances in order to beat men’ identifying’ as women in women’s sports.”

Ward’s comments came after University of Pennsylvania swimmer Lia Thomas, a biological man who identifies as a transgender woman, won the 500-yard freestyle event in the Women’s Swimming and Diving Championships.

Thomas defeated two biological women in the race, including Olympic silver medalist Emma Weyant by half a second.

The race results sparked a debate on trans rights and their place in women’s sports.

In response, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) named the Florida native as the true winner.

“By allowing men to compete in women’s sports, the NCAA is destroying opportunities for women, making a mockery of its championships, and perpetuating a fraud,” he wrote in a tweet. “In Florida, we reject these lies and recognize Sarasota’s Emma Weyant as the best women’s swimmer in the 500y freestyle.”

Ward added that biological men who identify as trans women will force “women out of the upper echelons of elite sports entirely as we biologically cannot compete apart from enhanced substances, forcing women to endanger their health.”

“That is science,” she added. “That is fact. Your truth is not the truth and, when it infringes upon fact and places an undue burden, which displaces my rights, we have gone too far.”

Ward has since made her Instagram private after co-stars ridiculed her stance, labeling her as “transphobic.”

“There’s [two] sides to this argument,” wrote Paris Barclay. “The side of love, understanding, empathy, [and] support. And the side of bigotry, ignorance, misinformation, [and] transphobia. Ms. Natasha Ward, you are on the wrong side.”

The Walt Disney Company recently spoke out against Florida’s Parental Rights in Education legislation, which opposition falsely labeled as the “Don’t Say Gay bill.”

Although the word “gay” cannot be found in the new bill, many condemned DeSantis and the bill, claiming it is anti-LGBTQIA+.

While the bill may protect children in school for a time, it is clear that Disney is finally folding under internal and external pressure from the LGBTQIA+ community.

In the past, Disney leadership understood that to cut intimate same-sex affection in their projects opens their movies up to the majority audience.

While Walt Disney Company held its ground to focus on story versus sexuality in the past, LIGHTYEAR could mark a significant turning point.
