John Crist Shares Comedic Chick-fil-A Experience

Christian Comedian John Crist and Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade delved into a discussion about millennial unemployment—a topic to which Crist can relate.
“Everybody knows the only restaurant I was allowed to work at in my Christian pastor family,” the comedian said. “My dad said I could work in Chick-fil-A for the summer…McDonald’s absolutely off-limits but Chick-fil-A, they would let me work there. That was the only one I was allowed to work at.”
“How’d it go?” Kilmeade asked.
“You didn’t have to bring this up on national television,” Crist quipped, “but I did get fired. Unfortunately I was trying to stir the lemonade in, I couldn’t find the stirrer so it was an emergency situation and I stirred it with my hand,” Crist confessed.
“All the germs have probably worn off if you did drink that lemonade in 2001,” he joked.
“I had some priors on my record,” he elaborated in another interview. “I picked up a chicken breast and put it back in the fryer [after it fell] on the ground.”
Crist made multiple comedic sketches about Chick-fil-A on his YouTube channel. “Chickfila Drug Dealer,” “ChickFila HR Department” and “If Chick-fil-A Commercials Were Honest” continue to entertain fans.

Crist first became popular through his YouTube sketches, but he was initially nervous about poking fun at the Christian life.
Crist mentioned that before he got on stage to perform, he needed to go see another Christian comedian to understand how to tell jokes about the Bible…
He continued, ‘I was homeschooled and very sheltered. So, I started telling these jokes about growing up in church. I would do a joke like ‘just because your kid is named a Bible name doesn’t mean he’s going to be a good kid because I’m pretty sure a kid in sixth grade named Jesus stole my bike.’’
The Christian Post wrote, “Crist’s faith doesn’t blind him to the quirks and idiosyncrasies of church culture. In fact, he sees his comedic role as a mechanism to keep everyone honest. And like the court jester of yesteryears, Crist said his comedy is crafted not to belittle but to foster a sense of self-awareness.”
