AI just went after some of country music’s biggest stars, but they clapped back with grace and humor.
Last week, AI generated images showed Reba McEntire at Dolly Parton’s death bed.
“Did you see that AI picture of Reba and me?” Parton said in a video message addressing rumors about her health. She joked that she and McEntire “both looked like we need to be buried” in the AI image.
McEntire responded as well, saying, “You tell ‘em, Dolly.”

“That AI mess has got us doing all kinds of crazy things. You’re out there dying, I’m out here having a baby,” she continued as she showed AI rendered images of Parton in a hospital bed and McEntire holding an ultrasound photo.
She concluded, “Well, both of us know you’re too young and I’m too old for any of that kind of nonsense. But you better know I’m praying for you. I love you with all my heart, and I can’t wait to see you soon. I love you.”
People in the comment section shared support for the musical legends.
“One thing’s for sure: you’re both iconic! ❤️” The Grand Ole Opry’s Instagram account commented. Another person added, “I love how you both handled this ❤️👏 It’s shocking how many millions of people are gullible to clearly fake images online.”
After Parton announced the postponement of her Las Vegas residency due to health issues, people began to think the worst. She herself took to Instagram to bring an end to the wild rumors.
“Lately everybody thinks I’m sicker than I am, do I look sick to you?!” she said in a video looking as healthy and better as ever. “I wanted to put everyone’s mind at ease…I appreciate your prayers because I’m a person of faith…but I want you to know that I’m okay.”
Parton also addressed the ridiculous AI photos, saying, “…if I was really dying, I don’t think Reba would be the one at my death bed. She might come visit me earlier.”
Her health scare began in September after the doctor told Parton to take it easy. “I had a kidney stone that was causing me a lot of problems, turned out it’d given me an infection. And the doctor said, ‘You don’t need to be traveling right this minute, so you need a few days to get better,’” she previously explained.
Thankfully we can all relax knowing that the “9 to 5” singer is okay and laugh alongside McEntire and Parton over the ridiculousness of AI.
