The Ohio State football team recently received their championship rings for their 2025 College Football National Championship, and just like their season, the rings put faith first.

The inside of the ring features a cross, which represents the team’s strong faith that they displayed throughout the season.

According to ESPN, the Buckeyes were presented with three different rings at the spring game at Ohio Stadium.

The entire Ohio State football staff and players received “a ring for making the College Football Playoff, one from the CFP for winning it, and a championship ring from Ohio State.”

“It’s a surreal moment. I love this place,” team captain Jack Sawyer said after the ring ceremony that occurred during half-time on the 50-yard line.

“They’re champions. So yeah, it puts a smile on your face when you see it,” head coach Ryan Day added.

“It makes it feel real. Been a long time coming for these rings, but a combination of a lot of hard work, sacrifice and love when I see them,” quarterback Will Howard echoed.

After the Buckeyes won the National Championship, ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt and Rece Davis talked about the faith the team emphasized throughout the season.

“It seems that both faith in above and faith in one another is what got Ohio State through,” Van Pelt began.

“We hear a lot of times people talk about their faith, and people sort of dismiss it,” Davis said. “These guys were sharing their faith and reaching out and baptizing guys on campus — not just football teammates. And it became something powerful to them, not because they thought it was going to be handed to them to win a game, but it developed, it changed their relationships, and it changed selfishness and made it go away. It was impactful for them. It didn’t mean they were going to guarantee they were going to win.”

Many of the players from Ohio State were just drafted in the 2025 NFL Draft.

Quarterback Will Howard was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the sixth round.

“A dream come true. See you soon, Pittsburgh!” Howard shared on his Instagram.

Linebacker Cody Simon went to the Arizona Cardinals. He was the 115th pick in round 4.

The Ohio State Buckeyes football team continues its legacy of sharing Jesus with the world as their new National Championship rings feature a cross on the inside. From head coach Ryan Day to several players on the team, the Buckeyes know if it wasn’t for their faith in God, they wouldn’t have won the title.
