While many Christians think of the teachings in the Bible as restrictions upon their lives, Kirk Cameron revealed that they actually free us to live fulfilling lives unshackled from sin.
“We have to understand that God gave us His law not to shackle us, but to set us free. Because apart from His law, we will imprison ourselves in pride and in shame and in guilt,” Cameron explained. “God wants to liberate us and shape us…When you think of God’s law, don’t imagine a courtroom and a judge and a jailer, imagine a loving father teaching his children how to navigate a dangerous world.”
“The scriptures say that God’s law revives the soul because it aligns your heart with reality,” the actor continued. “The testimonies of the Lord rejoice the heart because they keep you from self-destruction. It enlightens the eyes because it helps you see what is truly good rather than the things that you just think is good in a moment of weakness.”

This lesson is extremely important because Satan is constantly working to make us believe otherwise and stray from God’s path. Culture mocks those who pursue abstinence and purity and glorifies a life of debauchery. While the world presents this lifestyle as being the only way to be truly free, the Lord teaches that His way is better and will be so much less burdensome.
“‘Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls,’” Jesus says in Matthew 11: 28-29.
It is in the Lord that we can find rest from the troubles of this world – many of which are caused by the sin that we partake in.
While culture still teaches differently from the Bible, many people in the younger generation are finding the truth for themselves as they search for peace in a chaotic world. With an unfiltered access to social media from a young age, many teens and young adults have tasted of the world and are searching for something greater. This is the reason why the majority of Gen Zers are open to the Bible and its teachings.
This openness has sparked a revival across the country, especially led by athletes who have used their platforms to spread the gospel and inspire the next generation to take their faith seriously. Praise the Lord for the work He is performing in our country and the way He is turning millions back towards Him.
