DANCING WITH THE STARS announced it will be launching a podcast which is set to be hosted by Season 33 champion Joey Graziadei.

“I couldn’t be more excited and honored to be joining the DANCING WITH THE STARS team in this new way, bringing audiences exclusive interviews and behind-the-scenes content,” Graziadei said. “I have so many great memories and from my time competing (and winning didn’t hurt), so I can’t think of a better way to connect with contestants and bring deeper conversations and fun moments to the podcast space.”

The podcast will give fans of the show more behind-the-scenes access during the upcoming season as Graziadei interviews members of this season’s cast and other special guests as they discuss the dances that took place that week.

The launch of this podcast comes as Disney looks to expand the reach of its shows through the medium. The Hulu Original ONLY MURDERS IN THE BUILDING, for example, received an official podcast earlier this month, hosted by actor Michael Cyril Creighton. Other shows set to get a podcast include PARADISE, THE SECRET LIVES OF MORMON WIVES, MURDAUGH: DEATH IN THE FAMILY, PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPIANS and TELL ME LIES.

“We built this slate of companion video podcasts to give our fans even more ways to connect more deeply with the shows they love,” said Direct-to-Consumer & Disney Entertainment Television Marketing president Shannon Ryan. “These are like a backstage pass for their favorite series, and we can’t wait to give fans the opportunity to expand their viewing experience, go behind the scenes with our creators and casts, and continue the conversation beyond each episode in an engaging and entertaining new way.”

“Our marketing team has been working closely with the show producers to ensure we’re putting the fan first,” Ryan added. “There have been a lot of conversations about what our fans might want to hear about the most and how we can celebrate and unpack these shows in the most clever, fun and unique way possible.”

It is no surprise that DANCING WITH THE STARS is one of the shows chosen for this treatment as it remains one of the most popular competition shows on television. Furthermore, because it features a wide array of celebrities from across the industry, fans are always curious to hear about what occurs behind the scenes.

This year’s season is set to include Andy Richter, Corey Feldman, Hilaria Baldwin, Jordan Chiles, Scott Hoying, Whitney Leavitt and Jen Affleck. Season 34 starts today, on Tuesday, Sept. 16.
