Tim and Demi-Leigh Tebow have the sweetest love story!
“We actually knew we were gonna get married before we ever met in person,” Tim revealed earlier this year on “The Skinny Confidential” podcast.
“It’s one of my favorite stories,” Demi-Leigh chimed in.
“I had a little sister that was born with severe special needs, and [Tim’s] foundation has an initiative called Night to Shine, and it’s a worldwide celebration for people just like my little sister,” she explained. The former Miss Universe’s younger sister, Franje, was born with a condition called cerebellar agenesis. She died in 2019 at the age of 13.
Demi-Leigh shared that the two emailed back and forth about the event and then set up a phone call.
“Tim reached out through the foundation to invite my little sister to attend Night to Shine…we went back and forth on email, and then we set up a call to just talk about Night to Shine,” she explained.

Tim continued, “It’s supposed to be a 5, 10 minute call, and I went for two hours, 24 minutes and six seconds. She’s like, you know, something has to go terribly wrong for this not to work out.”
Demi-Leigh added, “Here comes this American guy that loves people just like my little sister and puts up an event that makes people like her feel seen and loved and valued.”
The couple began dating in 2018 and were engaged shortly after. They married in 2020.
The former NFL player previously told PEOPLE, “I’ve been looking forward to three things: the first moment I see her in her wedding dress, the first kiss, and the first dance together as man and wife. It’s such a special night.”
He added, “I’ve been waiting my entire life for someone special, who I can spend the rest of my life with. I was waiting for the right person to come along…all of my dreams have come true. It was 100 percent worth the wait.”
Five years later, the couple welcomed their first child, daughter Daphne Reign, in July 2025.
“So here she is — our daughter,” the Tebows posted on Instagram shortly after her birth. “Our answered prayer. Daphne Reign Tebow — created in the image of God. Royalty as His princess. Our biggest prayer over her is to reign in God’s purpose for her life.”
The Tim Tebow Foundation’s 2026 Night to Shine is happening around the world today, Feb. 13.
“Night to Shine 2026 is one week away! 🥳” Demi-Leigh posted last week. She shared some details for those who may not know about the event.
“Night to Shine is a worldwide celebration event, centered on God’s love, honoring and valuing people with special needs,” she explained. “It’s hosted every year by churches on the Friday before Valentine’s Day! In 2025, Night to Shine took place in all 50 states and 63 countries across 822 churches with over 107,000 honored guests.”
She concluded, “Such an amazing night around the world! Seeing how God has allowed it to grow over the years has been nothing short of incredible.”
Praise God for how He brought the Tebows together and continued their mission to show Christ’s love to those with disabilities.
