The future of wildly popular YouTube show DANNY GO! is uncertain after stars Daniel Coleman, aka Danny Go, and wife Melinda’s son Isaac passed away from cancer in May.
“It’s just the weird juxtaposition of family things feeling so weighty and like the brand doing so well, because I’m so proud of what we’ve built,” Melinda, who plays Mindy Mango, told Time magazine before Isaac’s passing. “But we’re kind of like — it almost feels like it doesn’t matter. Like in the grand scheme of things, when our son passes, I think we can see it going so many ways, and we’re like, we might just want to be done, like maybe that’ll feel too hard.”
Daniel echoed similar uncertainty about the future of the show he and friends Michael Finster and Matthew Padgett started in 2019.
He mentioned before Isaac’s death that the stories from people whose lives have been touched by the show, which has amassed nearly five million subscribers, might be the “fuel” to keep the show going.
“I don’t know how how things will go over the next few months, to be honest, but I want to believe that there’s enough light on the other side and especially just seeing how much this show means to not just kids, but other families that are experiencing painful situations,” Coleman said who is also father to an 11-year-old son Levi.

Isaac was born with a rare disease called Fanconi anemia that affects the ability to repair DNA that can lead to bone marrow failure. The disease comes with a high risk of cancer, which Coleman’s son was diagnosed with in 2025.
After doctors were unable to remove all the cancer and had limited treatment options because of his anemia, they transitioned to palliative care. Daniel announced his son’s death on May 22 remembering his “joy” and “grit.”
“Oh my sweet boy. There’s so much I want to say, but I don’t know how yet. I already miss you so much, and the pain in my heart is far more than I can process…” Daniel posted on Instagram. “Remembering how loved you were and how full of life your time here was gives me great comfort. Being your dad was the honor of a lifetime. I’m so proud of you and I love you forever. Rest peacefully.”
Daniel is taking time away from DANNY GO! while he mourns his son. He also plans to build a memorial for him on his property. No matter what the future holds he says he is proud of the show he built.
“Am I going to want to run away from kids’ stuff, or am I going to be doubly motivated?” he said in an interview following his son’s passing. “I don’t know what the future looks like.”
“And I think that there’s very few things that I could go and do with my life that would probably have more meaning,” Coleman went on to say.
Please continue to pray for the “peace of God which surpasses all understanding” for the Colemans during this time of unimaginable loss.
