TIA & TAMERA star Tamera Mowry-Housley says she’s an imperfect follower of Jesus, but she knows God has been alongside her “through it all.”
“He loves us through it all,” Housley explained in an Instagram video this week. “And He literally just wants us to have a relationship with Him.”
Her journey began three years ago when she sought God out. Though she accepted Christ at age 8, she only knew about God. She didn’t know what it meant to have a relationship with Him.
“I was sitting with my Bible. I decided to open it up, and I said, ‘I want to know who you truly are,’” Housley recalled.
She read the Bible from beginning to end. She had a better understanding of who God was and felt changed as a person. She attributes that to the power of God’s word and his presence.
“My faith didn’t happen overnight. It started with me opening my Bible and seeking God, and I promise you, that changes you. I’m still on this journey,” Housley said.
She knows that God doesn’t ask for perfection. What He wants more than anything is a relationship with His children.
“He loves you through every season, the good and the messy,” she wrote in the caption. “So open your Bible today. Discover who HE truly is for yourself 🤍”

Over 85,000 people liked Housley’s post.
A week prior, Housley admitted she was hesitant to share her faith because of backlash, but it’s part of who she is, so she wants to share it.
“I proudly call myself a Christian,” she said on social media, “and a lot of the times when I speak of my faith, it comes from a place of encouragement, love…so, I thought, ‘What would be a fun way of expressing that, maybe once a week?’ And that is maybe prayer, maybe just thoughts. So, let’s start with prayer.”
Housley shared a prayer for her followers on social media with a promise to share a faith-filled video every Sunday.
She shared about her faith in 2022 on the “Jesus Calling” podcast.
“I used to struggle with the spirit of perfection. I thought that if I was perfect, all the problems would go away,” she said.
Then she realized that perfection shouldn’t be the goal.
“I found out it was actually the more you think like that, the more you’re imprisoned, because the Lord loves us without perfection…” she said. “I had to learn that, the pressure of staying on top, being a successful show, then realizing you’re canceled, your show’s canceled, your dreams are just kind of [gone], and now you have to pick up and move on.”
It’s wonderful that Housley has taken a step of faith to share Christ with her followers every week.
