The first GARAGE SALE MYSTERY premiered in 2013. Fifteen others followed, with the most recent debuting in 2018.

The break in the series came when Loughlin and her ex husband Mossimo Giannulli were arrested in 2019 after being accused of paying “$500,000 to get their daughters into the University of Southern California as crew recruits. Neither girl had ever rowed competitively,” ABC reported at the time. The actress served two months in jail and community service.

“This is a case where [the parents] flaunted their wealth, sparing no expense to cheat the system so they could set their children up for success with the best money can buy,” an FBI statement in 2019 about the situation said.

Following her release from prison in 2020, Loughlin expressed her sorrow for her actions.

“I went along with a plan to give my daughters an unfair advantage in the college admissions process,” Loughlin admitted. “In doing so I ignored my intuition and allowed myself to be swayed from my moral compass. I thought I was acting out of love for my children. But in reality, it only undermined and diminished my daughters’ abilities and accomplishments.”

She added, “While I wish I could go back and do things differently, I can only take responsibility and move forward. I am truly, profoundly and deeply sorry. I’m ready to face the consequences and make amends.”

Her acting career has slowly made a comeback, and she made her Hallmark return in WHEN CALLS THE HEART and WHEN HOPE CALLS.

“It’s just so nice to be back with my family. It feels amazing and my girl [Erin Krakow] here has been championing this for a long time,” Loughlin said or reuniting with her WCTH co-star. “I just want to thank everyone at Hallmark for being so loving and so welcoming…And this just feels incredible.”

Movieguide® awarded her the Grace Award for Television in 2024 for her role in A CHRISTMAS BLESSING.
