Kathie Lee Gifford just shared an important message about appreciating the moment you’re living in.

“I am not dating anybody right now, and I don’t want to date anybody. I’m not looking, and I don’t think I’ll ever get married again,” she told PEOPLE after being asked about her love life. “You know what it is? I leave room for the miraculous in my life. If God wants to do something miraculous in my life, like give me another great love…”

Gifford explained that her late husband, Frank Gifford, “will always be the love of my life,” then added, “I need to find joy in the moment I’m in right now. Because none of us know, you know, when is our last breath? Instead of planning for, ‘One day, I’m going to take that vacation, one day, I’m going to his, my bucket list,’ that kind of thing — find joy right now in what you have already.”

“If you concentrate on everything you’ve lost and you live in the past, people who live in the past are doomed to die there. And I don’t want to live in the past,” she continued. “I have been blessed for so many years, but I have great blessings today, too.”

Gifford concluded, “Now I’m in the season of my life where I don’t want to repeat myself. I want to be remembered as somebody that, if they only met me one time, you know, ‘She made me laugh. She was kind.’”

Frank passed away in 2015, but Gifford still keeps the memory of her late husband close to her heart. While speaking to Fox News last year about how she honored him on the anniversary of his death, the former TODAY host said, “Same thing I do every day, talk to him. Thanked him for the years that we had. Thanked him for the magnificent children he gave me. And now the  five beautiful [grandchildren].”

In a 2016 interview, Gifford said, “There’s no question that Frank was the love of my life. In a world where people seem to get divorced because they have a hangnail, we were committed to our marriage and to one another.”

While Gifford still misses her late husband, the former TV personality is choosing to focus on the blessings in her life instead of dwelling on the past.
