Minnesota Twins minor league star Walker Jenkins added a major save to his stats on June 30.
The Twins minor league team, the St. Paul Saints, lined up for the National Anthem on the field alongside several children. Jenkins noticed the child in front of him began wobbling. Before the child fell, Jenkins caught him and brought him to medics.
The Saints shared a video of the event and a photo of the boy afterward wearing his new Saints merchandise.
“Not all heroes wear capes. Some wear a #23 Saints jersey. We are happy to share that Lincoln is doing well, and even got some new merch,” The Saints shared on X.

“Lincoln was out there with me, I was just talking to him before the Anthem and he seemed good go to. It was hot, I’ve never been in Minnesota weather that’s been that hot. The Anthem started and he was kind of started stumbling,” Jenkins told Fox 9 KMSP News. “I asked if him he was alright, and he didn’t respond. I was like let’s just get this kid off the field and get him to someone who knows a lot more than I do.”
It’s fitting that Jenkins helped Lincoln, as the athlete is nicknamed “Captain America.”
He also had several saves at the plate for the Saints as he went 3-for-5 with a “triple, a double, one RBI, three runs scored and a stolen base to help the Saints win, 12-6,” according to TODAY.
Lincoln’s mother, Tanya Mosher Daniels, posted on Facebook after the game to express her gratitude to everyone involved with the situation.
“Thank you to everyone who has been checking in on Lincoln and sending him so much love over the last couple of days! We’re happy to report he bounced back almost immediately after getting cooled down and rehydrated, and he got a great report from his doctor after a quick checkup yesterday,” Daniels wrote.
She then thanked Jenkins personally.
“THANK YOU for your quick thinking and genuine concern as you carried Lincoln off the field. The nickname ‘Captain America’ couldn’t be more fitting! (P.S. – we were happy to watch you go out after this and have a heck of a game!)” she said.
She said that Lincoln is “feeling great now and is already looking forward to getting back on the baseball field.”
“Thank you all again for the prayers, messages, and kindness — we’re feeling very grateful!” she concluded.
By leaping into action to protect a young fan before delivering a spectacular performance at the plate, Jenkins truly lived up to his “Captain America” nickname.
