Want a BLUEY bedtime story? You’re in luck — BBC Studios and Penguin Random House just announced their first BLUEY audiobook collection, titled “Bluey: The Beach and Other Stories.”

“With BLUEY continuing to be one of the top performing children’s publishing brands, it’s exciting to see that audience appetite extend into audiobooks,” Jan Paterson, Director of Books and Audio Publishing at BBC Studios, said in a statement. “The strength of engagement we’re seeing from families makes this a natural next step, giving listeners a new way to connect with BLUEY with stories and characters that they already know and love.”

“Bluey: The Beach and Other Stories” will feature eight stories narrated by Miranda Tapsell, who voices Dougie’s mum in the show. The stories include Baby Race, Barky Boats, The Beach, Charades, Daddy Robot, Magic Xylophone, The Pool and Typewriter.

Rianna Mezzullo, Publisher, Penguin Random House Children’s Licensing, added, “We’ve built a rich and varied BLUEY publishing list that plays a meaningful role in everyday family life, and this new audio collection marks an exciting next chapter.”

“By bringing these much-loved picture books into an audio format, we are expanding how BLUEY stories can be experienced by young readers, while also highlighting the important role audio plays in sharing stories,” she added. “In this National Year of Reading, it’s more important than ever to meet children where they are: through the stories and brands they already love. Shared listening offers a powerful way for children, families and early years settings to connect, bringing stories to life and creating joyful, collective reading experiences.”

BLUEY has already expanded into the world of reading. In 2024, Penguin renewed its master publishing deal with BBC Studios to create more literary projects involving the beloved animated characters.

“It’s just a very special show,” Daniel Moreton, VP and publisher for brands and licenses at Penguin Workshop, told Publisher’s Weekly. “It all sells well. Even the one that sells the least is still tremendous. There has been nothing so far that the fans don’t want.”

Earlier this year, Penguin Random House Children’s Licensing and BBC Studios celebrated the fact that BLUEY officially sold over 4 million books in the UK.

“Reaching four million BLUEY books sold in the UK is a brilliant milestone and a testament to the genuine connection the BLUEY brand has built with families, growing from a breakout success into a lasting favourite,” Mezzullo said in a statement. “From the very beginning, it’s felt like something truly special.”

“Bluey: The Beach and Other Stories” will be available globally Sept. 1, 2026.
