Country star Lainey Wilson learned an important lesson about God that she’s sharing with her fans.

“I didn’t grow up reading,” she said in an Instagram video. “I read a few Judy Blume books, but the last year, I have really kind of just got bit by the reading bug. I don’t know what’s happening, but I’ve always kind of felt that my ADHD would keep me from being able to lock in and pay attention…but I want to share some of the books I’ve been reading.”

Wilson shared that she has been reading Aimed And Ready by Nico Smit.

Per its Amazon description, Aimed And Ready “speaks to those who feel buried, forgotten, or off-track, reminding them that God does not waste His arrows. The pullback is not punishment-it is precision. The pressure is not abandonment-it is proof of purpose.”

“This book is great, y’all,” Wilson shared. “It’s about — you know, you pull the bow back. You’re aimed, you’re ready. The pull back is about preparation. It’s not a setback; it’s not punishment. Those waiting seasons…those are the seasons that have purpose…it just talks about how God can use setbacks as set-ups.”

She added, “And I’m learning that every single day.”

Smit is “an award-winning author with more than 15 published books,” according to his website, including titles like “I Will Dream Again,” “The Amazing Marriage” and “Miracles Beyond The Crowd.”

He is also lead pastor of RiverCity Church, with “decades of experience in ministry” and a mission to “inspire and empower people to discover their God-given potential and live with unshakable faith.”

In a blog post about Aimed And Ready‘s message, Smit explained, “There are times when life looks reversed, but that does not mean motion is not in the opposite direction.”

“Do not judge your progress and position by sight alone. Many do that and miss just how close to the prize they have come,” he continued. “In this present moment I believe Heaven is saying, loud and clear: we are AIMED & READY to launch forward.”

Smit added, “Right now, many sense heavy pushback in their spirit as they prepare to step out in faith to occupy promised territory. Do not panic. Rejoice. Tension on the line means release is close.”

It’s a good reminder that God is always working in the lives of those who follow Him.
