Mark Wahlberg updated fans on his daughter Grace’s condition following a horseback-riding accident earlier this month.

“She’s doing great,” the actor told Access Hollywood, adding that the accident was “very, very scary” for him as a father.

He continued, “It’s a very, very dangerous sport, but she’s so passionate about it. All she wanted to do was get back on that horse — no pun intended. But she was chomping at the bit and worried that we would deem the sport too dangerous. But she’s so passionate, so dedicated.”

Wahlberg praised Grace’s dedication to the sport, as well as her discipline, saying he only “adopted that discipline when I became a parent. For her to have it at such a young age…”

The actor spoke further about the incident to TODAY, sharing she “broke her collarbone” and was “rushed off to the hospital in an ambulance.”

“She’s just angry that she’s not allowed to get back on the horse yet,” Wahlberg laughed. “She does have to take that time to recover.”

The action star called horseback riding “the most dangerous, nerve-wracking sport” he’s ever watched, adding, “But she loves it. She’s so dedicated and she has the discipline at 15 that took me into my 40s to get. You think I get up early and do things to prepare? She’s a machine!”

“She was worried we would be too concerned because of the dangers that we wouldn’t let her ride again, but she’s passionate about it so we have to let her pursue that,” Wahlberg concluded.

Grace shared her injury on Instagram, posting a photo of herself in a hospital bed with the caption, “no pressure we will be back.”

Wahlberg has previously praised Grace’s work ethic, telling PEOPLE, “She works out now. She’s an equestrian. She now wants to go up in meters and to be a Grand Prix Jumper. She’s got to train.”

“She’s doing things that my other kids are kind of now starting to think, ‘Well, we’ve got to start doing something because she’s got it all figured out, what she wants to do and how she wants to do it,’” he continued.

In an interview with E! News, the actor joked that his daughter is “more disciplined” than he is, adding, “I didn’t adopt that kind of discipline until I was in my 30s, and I had to do it because of work. And now, she does it on her own because she wants to be an Olympian.”

Wahlberg might be nervous to see his daughter get back on a horse, but it’s clear this teen is dedicated and more than ready to return to the sport.
