CASI DIVAS

What You Need To Know:

CASI DIVAS is a Mexican comedy about a TV contest to pick the new young star of a movie based on a popular soap opera. The movie focuses on several contestants, most of them poor or working class. It also centers on the angry female star of the TV soap opera, who’s upset that her producer and lover wants to replace her in the show’s movie version. Eventually, one of the girls turns out to be a cross dressing man with fake breasts who has a homosexual lover. The movie mixes this politically correct homosexual message with a feminist message and a message about the problems that poor Mexican Indians face in a racist society.

Without the boring left-wing politics, CASI DIVAS could have been a really fun movie. In fact, it is really fun until the filmmakers decide they’d rather make a political drama with heavy-handed homosexual propaganda. The filmmakers have really limited their American audience by including the silly homosexual, cross-dressing message in their movie. The character who’s supposed to be a man dressed as a woman is not at all believable. CASI DIVAS also has too much foul language.

Content:

(HH, PCPC, HoHoHo, Fe, C, B, LLL, V, S, N, A, D, MM) Strong humanist worldview with strong politically correct content, including very strong pro-homosexual elements and some feminist implications that have a theme about the kidnapping and implied abuse of women by drug gangs or sex traffickers, plus one reference to the Virgin Mary and one reference to God, but they are very light and have no real impact, but racism against Indians is rebuked; 25 obscenities (mostly “d” words and including one “f” word), one strong profanity and three light profanities; light comic violence includes a slapping scene and some very light fighting; implied fornication, woman tries to kiss another woman, but the woman is really a man posing as a woman, cross dressing, and man posing has a woman has a boyfriend so it is actually a homosexual relationship (strangely, there appears to be no intention to get a full sex change operation); upper male nudity and some female cleavage; alcohol use; smoking; and, lying, cheating, implied kidnappings are fought, racism rebuked, jealousy, and secular political action.

More Detail:

CASI DIVAS, or “ALMOST DIVAS,” is a Mexican comedy about a TV contest to pick the new young star of a movie based on a popular soap opera. The movie is pretty good until it turns into an unbelievable, politically correct polemic supporting homosexuality and cross-dressing.

The movie focuses on several contestants, most of them poor or working class. It also centers on the angry female star of the TV soap opera, who’s upset that her producer and lover wants to replace her in the show’s movie version. Eventually, one of the female contestants turns out to be a cross dressing man with fake breasts who has a homosexual male lover. The movie mixes this politically correct homosexual message with a feminist message and a message about the problems that poor Mexican Indians face in a racist society.

Without the dull and boring left-wing politics, CASI DIVAS could have been a really fun movie. In fact, it is truly fun until the filmmakers decided they’d rather make a political drama with heavy-handed, and clueless, homosexual propaganda. The filmmakers have really limited their audience in America by including the silly homosexual, cross-dressing content in their movie. The character who’s supposed to be a man dressed as a woman is not at all believable. Just imagine Nancy Pelosi passing herself off as a decent, rational human being, and you may get the picture.

CASI DIVAS also contains plenty of foul language. Most of them are “d” words, but there is one “f” word and some “h” words.
