3 Things To Know About The Satanic Netflix Series CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA

By Tess Farrand, Staff Writer

The new Netflix Original series, CHILLING ADVENTURES OF SABRINA makes its way to the streaming service just days before Halloween. The timing is appropriate because the series showcases plenty of disturbing satanic rituals that parents should absolutely know about.

1. It’s not the Sabrina you remember

From 1996 to 2003, Melissa Joan Hart starred as Sabrina in the series SABRINA, THE TEENAGE WITCH. Movieguide® wasn’t a fan of the show for the obvious reasons of witchcraft, but at least the series was a comedy. This new rendition is a full-blown horror series, which takes the story many levels darker. “The idea was to do a dark horror version of Sabrina, something that was more of a slow-burn horror, like The Exorcist and Rosemary’s Baby and all those great satanic horror movies from the 1960’s and 1970’s,” said the series’ creator, Aguirre-Sacasa. The Netflix Original is “loosely based” on his 2014 comic with the same title, which, in turn, was based on the Archie’s brand comic books from the early 1970’s.

2. There are scenes with seances and other demonic activity

One-episode title reads, “Chapter Two: The Dark Baptism…” Plot details are unknown at this point but if we had to guess, from the teaser of the new series, we’d say it’s some sort of satanic perversion of Christian practices with hints of bestiality. Movieguide® does know that CHILLING ADVENTURES first season follows Sabrina’s dark education of all things witchcraft. At one point, she must decide whether or not to be become a full-fledged witch by confronting the “Dark Lord.” Moreover, one look at the series’ poster is telling. Sabrina appears with her 16th birthday cake with devil horns coming out of her blonde curls, signifying that she will have to find a balance between everyday life and her magical capabilities.

3. The series is already working on season two

Although the series hasn’t gone live just yet, the team behind CHILLING ADVENTURES expects enough praise to keep the series afloat. Currently, season two is set to release sometime in 2019.

Parents, please discuss with your teenagers why show’s like this are not acceptable. Satanism and witchcraft is not a plot device, it’s a real evil that wants to infect our culture and our families.
