Alex Trebek to Pen Personal Memoir to Honor Fans’ Goodwill

By Tess Farrand, Associate Content Editor

We’ll take “Celebrity Memoirs” for $200 Mr. Trebek!

JEOPARDY! host Alex Trebek will release a personal memoir to honor his fans’ goodwill.

“I want people to know a little more about the person they have been cheering on for the past year,” said Trebek, who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2019.

Trebek’s memoir will release in July 2020 and includes “illuminating personal anecdotes with Trebek’s thoughts on a range of topics, including marriage, parenthood, education,  success, spirituality and philanthropy.”

During Trebek’s cancer journey, the longtime entertainment host has asked for prayers and spoken of God’s grace.

When Trebek called a fan, Trebek said, “With God’s grace and prayers from people like you, and good wishes from folks everywhere, I’m going to come through like you.”

However, fans will have to stay tuned for his book launch to unearth more about Trebek’s faith.

According to TODAY, the nearly 80-year old Trebek believes there’s plenty of reason to celebrate this season of his life:

“You know, my oncologist tried to cheer me up the other day,” Trebek said. “He said, ‘Alex, even though the two-year survival rate is only 7%, he was certain that one year from now the two of us would be sitting in his office celebrating my second anniversary of survival.’

“And you know something? If I, no, if we — because so many of us are involved in this same situation — if we take it just one day at a time with a positive attitude, anything is possible.”

Please join us in prayer for healing.
