Feel Like You Failed? God’s Grace Is Sufficient, Actress Reminds Us

Candace Cameron Bure has some advice for anyone feeling like they’ve failed God.
“Grace has been a hard thing for me to receive from God,” she said while appearing on an episode of TAKEAWAYS WITH KIRK CAMERON. “Trust me, we all have our things, and it doesn’t matter how different they are, how big or small they are — when you feel like you’re not connected or you’ve disappointed God in some way, it’s just hard.”
Bure continued, “I’ve really had to learn about grace. That God’s grace is sufficient. I’ve had to learn how to receive His grace and just trust in His word, that if He says it, I have to believe it. If I choose not to believe it, I’m denying Him.”
“It gives me peace when I go back to Him to realize that God is so full of grace, and I’m so grateful for it, and sometimes I just need to spend a little extra time on that,” she said.
Bure then addressed viewers, saying, “There’s never anything too big that we’ve done — God is such a loving and patient and forgiving God. He wants a relationship with us…He doesn’t care what’s gone on, what you’ve done. Whatever place you are in your life, He’s waiting for you, and that’s how good and loving and gracious He is.”
“Don’t let [your fear or shame] stop you from seeking God, because His word says He wants you and He’s just waiting for open arms,” she concluded. “You just have to take the step.”

“I love that we are bringing stories of faith,” she told Us Weekly. “We have ones that aren’t about faith and more in the traditional rom-com space, but our viewers really want messages that are more meaningful.”
“We know the reason we celebrate Christmas is because of the birth of Christ,” she continued. “I’ve made tons of [movies] that don’t ever mention the real meaning of Christmas. So just the fact that we mention God or there’s a scripture or there’s a biblical message that might be a proverb, someone might hear it and go, ‘Oh, that’s really good advice.’ They might not realize it comes from the Bible, but we love putting that in the movies.”

Bure made similar comments in an interview with the Christian Post, saying, “I just adore making these movies every year, and it is amazing to me that I’ve been doing them for 15 years and people still tune in and watch.”
“To share the Gospel within the movies and remind people of the hope of Jesus, that’s what has been inspiring for me, and I feel like it’s given me a new energy going into continuing to make Christmas movies, not only as an actor but also other Christmas movies I produce,” Bure concluded. “Sharing that within the stories is really powerful for me and important in my journey of faith and as a creative in the entertainment industry.”
