Danny Gokey: ‘Be Encouraged…Everything is Working for Your Good’

Worship artist Danny Gokey recently took to Instagram to remind his followers of a soul-stirring Biblical message: God’s love has the power to purify sin and guilt.
“Whatever you’re going through right now, whatever disappointment, whatever tragedy, whatever mistake you made, can I just remind you, it’s working together for your good?” Gokey asked his social media followers. “He says in Romans 8:28, ‘For we know that all things work together for the good of those who love God and those who are called according to his purpose.’ I want to remind you if you’re in Christ, it’s all working for you.”
“And don’t just stop at that verse. And it goes on; it says, “Those who he predestined, he called, and those he called, he justified, and those who justified, he glorified.’ If you’re in Christ, you’ve already been justified,’” he said.
Gokey says that even if someone’s got a multitude of sins, Jesus will forgive them.
“If you’re in Christ, the blood of Jesus covers it [sin], and it’s now going to work for your good. Turn away from that. Turn your eyes back towards Christ,” he shared.
“Here’s what I love about this. Whatever season you’re in, in verse 31, he says, ‘So what do we say about all these things?’”
Gokey puts that question back on the listener. What should someone do if they feel depressed or discouraged? They just need to remember that God is on their side.
The verse Gokey referenced, Romans 8:31, says, “God is for us, who can be against us? If he didn’t even spare his own son but offered him up for us all, how would he not with him freely give us all things?”
“And it says, ‘Who can bring accusation against God’s elect?’” Gokey continued, “There is no accusation that can stand against you, even if it was your fault. And it says, ‘Who is the one who condemns because Christ is the one who died, but even more has been raised and is raised to the right hand of God.’”
“‘What can separate us from the love of God?’ Nothing,” Gokey said emphatically. “Be encouraged today. Everything is working for your good. God bless you guys.”

“He was with me when I lost my first wife unexpectedly. He carried me through my secret bouts of depression and my battle with OCD,” Gokey wrote in a recent Instagram post. “He helped me find love again and gave me 4 beautiful kids. He’s proven his faithfulness to me but the best part about Him is: Even though I’ve failed him 1000 times — His love has never failed me.”
Gokey’s new single, “I Got You,” is playing in the background of the video.
“It’s a reminder that when you’ve got God by your side, you can face whatever comes your way!” he said of the song, per The Christian Beat. “Even when your world is shaking, believing that He is with you & will bring you through. My prayer is that this song encourages you to stand firm in that & keep praising, no matter what!”
The worship singer recently announced his excitement for his new “I Got You” music video.
He said, “I’ve loved getting to start sharing ‘I Got You’ with you guys, and am excited to release the music video for it that we filmed in the Dominican Republic ??…!”
