Danny Gokey Explains How Creation Teaches Us About God’s Character
By Movieguide® Contributor
Sharing a video of a chicken hatching from its egg, Danny Gokey explained how nature can teach us lessons about the character of God.
“Check this out. We have a chicken in our incubator and it’s hatched now. You see the hole right there?” Gokey said. “It has worked for hours just to get that hole. I bet you this chicken, you know, if it was a human would be all discouraged, depressed, cause, you know, I put in work and I’m not out of my egg yet, but look at him. He’s being consistent and he’s breaking through the egg.”
“Now, science says if you break the egg for the chicken, it makes the chicken weaker in life. I haven’t read all the details on it [but] I know it’s not good for the [chick],” he continued. “It’s kind of like the tests in life.”
“Tests in life are to make us stronger. Breaking through that shell is making this chicken stronger, making it more resilient, setting it up to be successful as a chicken in life. I think God puts us through the same type of tests to develop our character,” Gokey added. “Yeah, is it kind of cruddy that we have to do hard things? It is, but hard things make good character. I saw this and I was like, you know what? There’s such a moment in creation that God teaches us lessons with these moments.”

While the lesson of the chicken breaking out of its egg is important to remember, Gokey’s teaching is an even more important reminder that we can find Christ through all things in life. Psalm 19 reminds us that “the heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.” All of nature speaks to the creator, we just have to be on the lookout for it.

Christian artist Danny Gokey is warning people not to “drift” from their faith and to “hang on to God’s word” through difficult times.
Gokey rose to fame after competing on AMERICAN IDOL and has racked up over a million monthly listeners on Spotify.
In a series of videos he posted to social media, Gokey shared that he thinks the “most dangerous thing” Christians face today is “the drift.”
“It’s very subtle, and sometimes you don’t even catch it,” he said. “Therefore we should be more attentive to what we have heard, lest we drift away.”
He continued, “For if the word spoken by angels was true, and every sin and disobedience received a just recompense, how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation, which was first declared by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him? God also bore them witness with signs and wonders and diverse miracles and with gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to His own will.”
