HGTV Stars Are ‘Most Proud of’ Recent Project for Deserving Family
By Movieguide® Contributor
FIXER TO FABULOUS couple Dave and Jenny Marrs were “humbled and grateful” to be part of a recent remodel for a family in need.
“Tomorrow night’s episode is probably the one Dave and I are most proud of in all our years of doing this,” Jenny posted about a Jan. 28 episode of the HGTV show.
She explained that they partnered with friend Jay Cobb and St Jude Research Hospital to work on a home for a family struggling with cancer.
“When Jay came to us with this past year’s ‘St. Jude Playground Build’ family’s story, we knew we had to do more,” Jenny wrote. “Not only had their precious daughter fought (AND BEAT!) cancer but her momma was fighting her own battle with this horrible disease, as well. It’s too much for one family to endure but THEY DID IT.”
She added, “Wait and see what happens when a group of individuals come together to do some good and shine some light together into the darkness. I couldn’t be prouder of our generous and hardworking team, our amazing kiddos and our friend, Jay Cobb, for caring so well for these warrior kids.”

In another post, Jenny shared that she and Dave were “humbled and grateful to be able to use this unexpected job of ours in order to bless this incredible family.”
“Their persistent faith and unwavering Hope impacted each and every one of us there on that job site,” she added. “What a gift it was for us to be a part of this.”
Jenny also shouted out to the “120+ volunteers working around the clock” to make the project a reality.
“Our kids were fully invested and our team gave of their time and talents and resources,” she wrote. “We accomplished more than just a home renovation. We proved that when a community of people come together to do something good – despite the challenges and obstacles and odds stacked against them – they can and will make a difference.”
