Country Singer Gabrielle Mooney and Husband Praise God for ‘New Season’

Country singer Gabrielle Mooney is thanking God after her recent marriage.
“He’s so genuine, such a good person,” Mooney said of her new husband, Graylan Stone. “He loves my family.”
Mooney and Stone celebrated their wedding in Instagram posts, with Stone thanking God “for leading us to one another.”
The couple met in 2021, and Mooney, the sister of Dan + Shay’s Shay Mooney, was initially hesitant to go out with him. When Stone asked her on a date, the country singer said no but asked him to accompany her to church. He did, and they’ve been together ever since.
Mooney even wrote the song “I Didn’t Know Cowboys Had Tattoos” about Stone.
“I was just thinking, ‘You’re not from the South. You don’t know our ways or anything, but you love Jesus, and you have the values and the morals that I do, which is pretty rare these days.’ It was just like his heart was right out of Texas, even though he was from the north. And I’ll be honest with you, I had a little prejudice about northern boys,” she joked.
She also shared the moment she knew he was the one.
Earlier this year, Mooney had a major health scare — hydrocephalus and a brain cyst that strained her body so much her heart stopped.
“I died,” she said in an Instagram video about the episode, adding that if storms in the area hadn’t caused her to be taken to a different hospital with the equipment needed to treat her, she would not have survived.
“God was with me on that,” Mooney said.
Stone was with her in the hospital as she recovered, which showed Mooney how serious their relationship had become.
“Nobody would be able to stick by you like that and be praying with your family if they didn’t love you,” she explained. “After that, Graylan and I were like, ‘OK, if we can make it through something like this, I want to be with you forever.’ This was a big test for our relationship.”
Now, the couple are looking forward to starting their life together.
“I’m a very sentimental person, more so than any kind of physical stuff,” Mooney said. “Right now, it’s just a new season of what God is bringing us into. Me and [brother] Shay and [sister] Erica and [sister-in-law] Hannah, we talked about this the other day. We were like, it’s nice to have stuff, for sure. But what we have as a family is just so special.”
