By Movieguide® Contributor
Great American Family is introducing its first all-original scripted series, COUNTY RESCUE.
The show stars “Julia Reilly (STRANGER THINGS) as an EMT in training who is vying for one of three openings on the team. It also stars Stacey Patino (KEEPING UP WITH THE JONESES), Percy Bell (DEVOTION), Tim Perez-Ross (THE VAMPIRE DIARIES), Riley Hough (THE RESIDENT), Keller Fornes (THE SECRETS SHE KEEPS), Angel Luis (LAW & ORDER), Kristin Wollett (RANDOM TROPICAL PARADISE), and Brett Varvel (AMERICAN UNDERDOG),” Deadline reported.
“Dani (Julia Reilly) and the other EMTs in training are courageous, everyday heroes. But with only one opening for the three trainees, Dani’s faith in herself and her calling are tested with each and every call,” the synopsis reads.
The action-adventure medical drama will have five episodes in its first season. It will release on Feb. 17 on Great American Family. Great American Pure Flix viewers will get access a day earlier, on Feb. 16.
Movieguide® recently reported that another medical drama, GOING HOME, will have another season on Pure Flix:
The faith-based drama GOING HOME, which debuted last June, will return for a second season on Jan. 5 and run every Friday through Feb. 9.
The Affirm original series centers around a hospice nurse, Charley Copeland, “who sees her role as a calling from God to help shepherd people from this life to eternity,” the press release detailed on the upcoming series.
Cinema Blend said, “Although COUNTRY RESCUE will be the network’s first original scripted series, it won’t be the first scripted series that has aired on GAF. In 2021, the network acquired the second season of WHEN HOPE CALLS, the spinoff of Hallmark’s popular and long-running Western romance WHEN CALLS THE HEART.”
GAF will soon launch two more series in the first quarter of 2024: DESTINATION HEAVEN and SHADRACH.
