How Tim Tebow Uses His Platform to Point Fans to Christ
By Movieguide® Contributor
Tim Tebow, a former NFL star and now ESPN broadcaster and speaker, uses his platform to encourage his fans and point them to God.
In a recent Instagram post, Tebow shared, “I promise you this: God will use your gifts and abilities in His way and for His plan. Rather than try to figure out or influence how He will make it happen, focus on Him.”
He included Jeremiah 29:13 in the caption: “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”
Since social media began during Tebow’s college days, he has shared devotionals to impact his followers.
“Even though worry is natural, try to release it. Find peace that His knowledge is greater than ours. God has all the details figured out!” Tebow shared earlier this month.
He added, “As we learn in Proverbs, we try to plan our way, but it’s the Lord who establishes our steps! I know it can be easy to let our minds wander as we think about the next thing we have to do this week, or what happened yesterday, or the worries on our heart. But on this Sunday, cast your worries on the Lord and stay present for those around you!”
He also quoted Philippians 4:6-7, “Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”
Tebow doesn’t just share devotionals from Bible verses but also offers advice he has learned from life.
“Make the decision to be teachable and show your effort to learn,” he stated.
“I think one of the best lessons young people can learn is to be teachable,” he wrote in the caption. “Go to your pastor, your teacher, your coach or your boss—and listen to what they have to say. If you’re not willing to receive instruction and discipline, are you really that passionate about what you’re pursuing? Be teachable!”
Tim Tebow is encouraging others to join his battle to end the spread of child sexual abuse material.
“I want to share with you an evil that may be growing at an even faster rate than human trafficking,” the former football star wrote in an essay for Fox News. “It’s called CSAM–child sexual abuse material. Sometimes people will refer to this as child pornography, but that’s not the truth. It’s just not. These sexually explicit videos and images taken of children are so much worse than that. It’s not child pornography, so let’s call it what it is, it’s child sexual abuse.”
Tebow explained that, while many think human traffickers are making this material, “fathers are the number one producers of CSAM. The other most common abusers are within their circles of trust, with stepfathers and family friends also on the list for committing these horrific crimes.”
