HGTV Star Loves Sharing Family Business With Kids: ‘Immense Joy’

HGTV star Jenny Marrs is passing on her family’s creative legacy to her children.
“Growing up, my parents worked alongside my aunts, uncles and grandparents at our family’s bakery,” she wrote in an Instagram post with video clips of her kids woodworking together. “My childhood memories are inextricably tied to the taste of flaky pie crusts filled with sugary pecans and warm berry crumble muffins slathered in butter. My three siblings and I spent countless summer days folding muffin boxes in the bakery warehouse, where we earned one penny per box. To this day, whenever I catch a whiff of a pie bubbling in the oven, I’m immediately taken right back to that building on South Street.”
Marrs continued, “Watching my kids take part in our family business has always been a source of immense joy. When they help me choose paint colors or shop for the perfect vintage piece, they know they’re a part of this work. I also know that someday, when they catch the scent of sawdust in the air, they’ll reminisce on their childhood days spent in the shop with their dad.”
“These days, I often walk out to the shop and find the boys working on cutting boards for the store and I couldn’t be more proud of their work ethic and creativity,” she concluded. “Big love happens in the small moments, indeed.”
Marrs often speaks about the importance of sharing these traditions with her children, including the work the family does together on their berry farm.

Marrs and husband Dave are currently working on the sixth season of their HGTV show FIXER TO FABULOUS.
“We’re still plugging along over here with season six renovations!” she posted on Instagram. “We have another reveal this morning and have six other projects underway at the moment. I like to call it beautiful chaos 🤪.
In a recent Instagram story, Marrs shared that “season six is scheduled to air in early January!”
