Jeremy Renner Presents at People’s Choice Awards: ‘Good to be Back’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Jeremy Renner just appeared at the People’s Choice Awards a little over a year after his near-fatal snowplow accident.

He presented the Best TV Performance of the Year award.

As Renner took the stage, he said, “The fans rock. I gotta say, it feels good to be back. This year’s been a heck of a journey, and I’m happy I get to be here with you, the fans. You guys are the best.”

Per Deadline, “It was a Marvel reunion as host of the night Simu Liu presented Renner, and LOKI star Tom Hiddleston received Renner with a standing ovation as he walked onto the stage.”

Renner isn’t sure if he will return to the Marvel Universe for another AVENGERS movie or a second season of HAWKEYE on Disney+, but he’s “always game.”

Movieguide® recently reported:

“I’m always game. I’m gonna be strong enough, that’s for sure,” Renner said of the role. “I’ll be ready. All those guys come to my bedside, and they’ve been with me all along through this recovery, so…if they want me, they could have me. It would be something.”

…The actor isn’t back to full strength yet, though. He told Entertainment Tonight, “[I’m doing] probably 90 percent of all the things I needed to be doing…I think another six months will be hopefully running [more] … I got to set goals for myself.”

“I’ll do whatever I can,” he continued, “whatever it takes to get better, to get stronger. It’s a one-way street, this recovery. The rest of my life is about health and wellness. Recovery will be part of the rest of my life, so I look forward to it, man. There’s always something to do to get better, be stronger, be happier, be healthier, and that’s what I look forward to.”

Following the one-year anniversary of his snowplow accident, Renner released an album that commemorated all he went through.

He recently shared, “VINYL TEST PRESSED… and passed! What started as a crushing accident , turned emotional score of recovery, has NOW become a tangible beacon of the experience of life, death, recovery, and all things learned along the way. I hope you enjoy. Thank you for all the love and support as I’ve needed all of it to get through. And I’m blessed to be able to share this journey with you.”
