Kat Von D Says Faith Makes Her ‘More At Ease’

Tattoo artist Kat Von D is sharing her faith journey.
“I kind of…give [my husband] the credit,” she said while appearing on Allie Beth Stuckey’s “Relatable” podcast. “I came downstairs and he just said, ‘Hey, babe, I think we got it wrong. I think we got a lot of things wrong.’”
She and her husband started watching videos and reading articles, working to figure things out.
“I started just kind of reevaluating, kind of going down the list of what I’m doing with my life and what my perspectives are,” Von D explained. “A friend had sent me a sermon from Pastor Jack Hibbs, and I loved it. It really spoke to me and answered a lot of questions I had.”
From there, she and her family started “watching sermons every Sunday.”
“I just desired more and more and more, and so I just started studying the Bible,” Von D said.
The tattoo artist shared that she was raised in a Christian home, which gave her a strong foundation for her faith, but added, “When you can fall in love and learn as an adult, it’s much more meaningful than when you’re a child, just doing it because this is what we do, you know?”
“I’m on fire for Jesus,” Von D concluded. “I don’t plan on this dimming out. The more and more I learn, the more and more excited I get about things and the more at ease I am about what’s happening in this world.”
Von D was baptized last year. Movieguide® previously reported:
Former tattoo artist Kat Von D shared a video of her baptism following a long journey of personal transformation after she renounced the occult and witchcraft last year.
She captioned the video with a cross.
“Katherine von Drachenberg, upon your profession of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in obedience to His Divine command, I baptize you, my sister, in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,” the pastor said before submerging a white robe-clad Von D.
Von D joyfully hugged him as she emerged from the water.
Von D later shared on Instagram that she received “an overwhelmingly beautiful amount of positivity and love” following her baptism.
“People were just coming out of nowhere and wanting to give me a hug and congratulate me and welcome me to the family,” she continued.
Von D made the choice to turn away from her previous interest in the occult in 2022.
“I’ve always found beauty in the macabre, but at this point, I just had to ask myself what is my relationship with this content?” she wrote in an Instagram post. “And the truth is, I just don’t want to invite any of these things into our family’s lives, even if it comes disguised in beautiful covers, collecting dust on my shelves.”
Von D threw out her occult books and items, explaining, “Right now, it’s never been more clear to me that there is a spiritual battle taking place, and I want to surround myself and my family with love and light.”
