Kathie Lee Gifford Has Reached ‘Millions’ With Gospel: ‘Fulfilling My Purpose’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Kathie Lee Gifford spoke about “fulfilling [her] purpose” and spreading the Gospel to the people she meets.

“I was exactly where I was supposed to be and, as a result, every time I had an opportunity to share Jesus or a scripture or anything, any moment that the Holy Spirit would give me in my own spirit, I’d know to say it,” she said during an interview with TBN’s Eric Metaxas. “Say it in love, say it in tenderness, say it in humor. Speak gently and tenderly to people, and make them laugh, if you can, and they will take notice.”

Gifford said she has reached “millions and millions of people with the gospel” through her own one-on-one interactions, as well as her books, TV shows, and other faith-based works, adding, “I’m fulfilling my purpose.”

The author and Movieguide® Visionary Award winner also spoke to those who might feel nervous about boldly sharing their faith.

“Why are we afraid to proclaim our Lord and let people see us [as] vulnerable and real?” Gifford asked. “I’m not perfect, but I love a perfect God, and He loves me anyway, and He tells me He wants me to love people that are also not perfect.”

Gifford often talks about her dedication to promoting her faith through her work in the entertainment industry.

“People will try to say Hollywood is secular,” she said during an appearance on Sadie Robertson Huff’s “WHOA That’s Good” podcast. “[People say] there is such a godless world there. But God is everywhere.”

Gifford continued, “There might be people that don’t yet know God and don’t know that He loves him. But there is no godless place on this planet. There’s no godless place in this cosmos and all of creation. God, the Creator, is everywhere.”

She also credits God for all of her success, telling The Christian Post, “God has me do these amazing things that I have no idea how to do them. I promise you, I’ve written 20 books, and I don’t know how to write a book. I never took a class on how to write a book…I just answer the call of God in my life.”

Movieguide® previously reported on Gifford’s faith and how she makes it a part of her work:

Kathie Lee Gifford, 67, shared how her faith in God allowed her to persevere through difficult times, appreciate the joyous times, and ultimately trust God with her future.

The former TODAY co-host released a new book titled, “It’s Never Too Late.” In her latest release, Gifford reflected on her life’s many ups and downs and how God sustained her through it all.

“I just trust in God. I get up every morning knowing that He has something new and fresh for me. And I just try to be faithful to it. And that has brought me down an incredibly adventurous journey that I’m still on,” Gifford told Fox News in a very in-depth, faith-filled interview.

Despite Gifford’s long and successful career in broadcast television and entertainment, Gifford said she has no intention to retire.

“I say refire. Refire and find something new, learn something new and do something new each day. And don’t let fear paralyze you from living the most abundant life you can,” Gifford said. “God wants you to. He’s not a God of vengeance and He’s not a God of condemnation. And our culture has been taught that that’s what He is. And it’s the exact opposite of that.”
