Michigan State RB Nathan Carter Wants People to ‘Know About Jesus’
By Movieguide® Contributor
Michigan State’s running back Nathan Carter is on a mission to spread the Good News.
“Nathan Carter is a running back at Michigan State who leads the team in rushing yards. He began his college career at the University of Connecticut, which he led in rushing in 2021. After an early season shoulder injury in 2022 with UConn, he decided to enter the transfer protocol in December 2022,” Sports Spectrum reported.
In a recent “Sports Spectrum” podcast episode, Carter explained what Jesus means to him.
“Jesus is my rock,” the running back began. “He is my foundation. He is the reason why I live. He is my purpose in this world where there seems to be no hope. In a world where it seems like everyone is looking for something to fill them up and fill their void, Jesus is that for me.”
“For my life, I want to be able to use all that I have, all the strength that God has given me, to be able to show people who Jesus is,” Carter continued. “So that people can find out who Jesus is for themselves and so that they can develop their own personal relationship with Him.”
“The joy that I have, the love that I have and the peace that I have every single day, through any and every circumstance–there’s so many people who don’t have that,” he said. “I believe that if you were to have Jesus in your life, then they’ll be able to have that. That’s what I want people to have. I want people to have Jesus.”
During an Athletes in Action meeting on campus at Michigan State University, Carter shared his testimony.
The athlete also uses his social media to share his faith.
He wrote, “You are so lost and flawed, so sinful, that Jesus had to die for you, but you are also so loved and valued that Jesus was glad to die for you ~ Tim Keller.”
In another post, he wrote, “There Is Purpose In The Pain…💯 ‘He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no more, because the previous things have passed away.’ ~ Revelation 21:4 .”
