Madrid’s El Pais newspaper reports that evangelicals in Spain, who numbered 4,000 a century ago, today total 400,000, not including one million immigrants. The figures come from the Federation of Evangelical Entities in Spain.
Among Spanish evangelicals the custom is for each family member to have their own copy of the Bible. Young evangelicals, taking a page from the English-speaking world, practice “sword drills,” in which they compete to see who can find a Bible reference quickest.
