The Museum of the Bible, located in Washington D.C., recently announced a new stage production coming 2023 in honor of C.S. Lewis’ 124th birthday, ‘The Horse and His Boy.’

The stage play from Logos Theatre and C.S. Lewis Company Limited is set to open at the museum’s World Stage Theater on January 20 of next year.

“Narnia is coming to the World Stage Theater, and we could not be more excited,” said Harry Hargrave, chief executive officer at Museum of the Bible. “The Logos production does an incredible job of portraying Lewis’s stories and providing a memorable experience for guests of all ages.”

‘The Horse and His Boy’ is the fifth book in the Chronicles of Narnia, and follows a young boy named Shasta who escapes his enslaver with a Taarkaan horse named Bree.

The production includes 40 total performances from Jan. 20 to March 3, 2023.

Here are some of our favorite quotes from ‘The Horse and His Boy’:

  • “Dearest Daughter. I knew you would not be long in coming to me. Joy shall be yours.”
  • “‘Who are you?’ asked Shasta. ‘Myself,’ said the Voice, very deep and low so that the earth shook: and again ‘Myself,’ loud and clear and gay: and then the third time ‘Myself,’ whispered so softly you could hardly hear it, and yet it seemed to come from all around you as if the leaves rustled with it.”
  • “Child,’ said the Lion, ‘I am telling you your story, not hers. No one is told any story but their own.”
