Race Car Driver Sting Ray Robb Shares Gospel Hope: ‘God is in Control’

By Movieguide® Contributor

IndyCar driver Sting Ray Robb recently took to Instagram to share a hope-filled gospel message.

“Today’s reading is from John 8:12, and it says, ‘Again Jesus spoke to them saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life,’” Robb shared this week in an Instagram clip, “and that’s such a great reminder because in the dark world that we live in today, there’s so many discouraging moments in our daily lives and that verse, there is a reminder that God is in control.”

“Jesus is the light of the world, and he’s the hope that we can look forward to in the dark days, in the dark times, in a world that is dragging us down, we have hope in our future,” he continued.

The 22-year-old often uses his social media to share Christ with others.

He added a prayer for his video’s viewers: “I pray that you will see the light through the darkness you might be facing at the moment, and know that with Jesus, there is hope for the future. Amen.”

Movieguide® previously reported on the racer’s faith:

“Racing is a vehicle I can use to elevate God’s name,” said. “I think it’s my platform that I’ve been given to share the gospel and to be salt and light among those around me. I’ve been working on that, especially in the last couple of years — really being outspoken about it and trying to share my faith and give people that knowledge.”

As the Indy500 kicks off on May 26 and the Sonsio Grand Prix starts in just a couple of days on May 11, Robb is getting motivated.

He posted a photo of a street sign with his name on it—something that the Indy500 does for each of its drivers.

Robb said, “It’s MAY!!! Excited to be back @indianapolismotorspeedway for both the @Sonsio Grand Prix & #Indy500!!?️ ? Let’s get this party started! If you’re in town for all the festivities, be sure to take a pic under my street sign, post it and tag me ??”

Hopefully, he’ll be careful in this month’s races. Nearly two weeks ago, Robb took a hit when his car went off-course and into a barrier at the Indy Grand Prix at Barber.

“I think my steering wheel broke.” His voice came through the intercom cool and collected.

He later remarked about the incident, “Tough day.”
