Sadie Robertson Huff Gives Inspiring Sermon About God’s Promises: ‘God Gives You Himself’

By Movieguide® Contributor

Sadie Robertson Huff recently shared a video of her sermon at Christ Church LA this week, reminding listeners about the promises of God.

“[He] promises if you stumble, you will not fall,” Huff said. “You’ve been saved by grace. Your sins are forgiven. You are redeemed.

“If the Son sets you free, you are free indeed,” she preached. “He says ‘If you ask for wisdom, I will give it. I am love, I am truth, I am joy. I am all these amazing things. This is what He promises.”

Huff continued, “What He promises and what I notice when I’m reading the promises of God is the promises of God are way more to do with who God is than what He can give you. See, what God promises to us is not things that He can give you. God promises Himself to us. God gives you Himself.”

“You don’t need Him to do a single thing [other] than what He has already done,” Huff concluded.

Huff has grown from a reality TV starlet into a strong woman of faith with conviction and anointing.

Movieguide® has previously reported on Huff’s ministry:

Sadie Robertson Huff is encouraging young people to find themselves in Christ so that they can glorify God and find their purpose.

“I want to remind you of who you are tonight. I want to talk about identity, which should be a great conversation, right?” the former DUCK DYNASTY star said while appearing at Passion 2022.

“As a culture, we love to talk about identity. We’re obsessed with our identity,” she continued. “We love to talk about who we are. But also, it’s kind of strange because although we are obsessed with talking about who we are, nobody likes to actually be hit with the question, ‘Who are you?”

Huff spoke of the uncertainties many young people face when trying to figure out their place and purpose in the world and how easy it can be to identify yourself with many different people and things instead of finding yourself in God.

Huff talked about how hard it can be to find your identity, and that many Christians look to things like society or personality tests to tell them who they are. Although she said she appreciated personality tests and enjoys taking them, none of them can tell her more about who she is than God.

“Because what happens is, when I say that those things are what I identify with,” Huff said. “It excuses me to not have to be what I’m called to be.”

“We want to be our own version of truth,” she continued. “We want to be loved. We want to be powerful. We want to get control over our life. And we’re trying to take on all these attributes of God. What we’re not considering is trying to carry the weight of who God is. You also have to consider that you’ve got to carry the weight of your sin.”

“We have to find that in who God is, who He created us to be, based off the nature of who He is,” Huff said, encouraging those listening to her to have faith in God’s plan for them. “If you believe that that is who your God is, you will not be confused by who you are, because He’s not confused by who He is, and He is not confused on the purpose of your life.”
