Walker Hayes: ‘God Made Us Creative’ Despite Growing AI Capabilities

By Movieguide® Contributor

Country singer Walker Hayes is concerned that artificial intelligence could put him out of a job but knows God made people creative for a reason.

“I’m really glad I was born when I was born, when creativity was needed. I heard an AI song the other day, by an AI group and everything, and I’m telling you, it can outwrite me any day,” Hayes told Fox News Digital.

“It was absolutely phenomenal. And I’m not going to sit here and pretend I could out-create it,” he added.

With the increased use of artificial intelligence, Hayes wondered, “when you take the necessity for humans to create out of the world, I don’t know if I want to see what the world looks like then. I think that’s when we’re all just sitting and not moving, and we only talk, and we’re just lying in a bed. So, I got to tell you, it weirds me out.”

However, because of his faith in God, Hayes knows that creativity is an inextricable part of humanity.

“But I think God made us creative. I think every human is creative. We created AI. That’s how creative we are. It’s a mind-bender when you think about it,” he said.

“But I will say this, if someone can put my vocals on my records and I don’t have to come in and sing them, that’d be cool – makes my life a lot easier,” he joked.

Hayes is currently on tour with his family and recently shared several photos of him and his family on stage.

“Some of my favorites taken by @jennysondel in Cleveland?? Big shout to everyone coming out and seeing us this weekend! Good times in Pittsburgh, PA and Lima, OH?? Still blows my mind we get to do this. Together,” he captioned the photo.

Fans praised the singer for his commitment to his family.

“Just what America needs. A perfect example of a great dad loving his family and including them in his journey!! This is awesome and what people love to see!!” a fan wrote.

Another said, “I just love how close this family is! And just love how these girls look at there dad, it’s just the best to watch and see how there able to do all this together!”

Movieguide® previously reported on the motivation behind Hayes’ new album, “Sober Thoughts”:

In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, he discusses his journey of alcoholism and his sobriety.

“A big, big mission statement of mine is just recovery. I want to help anyone who is lonely and daunted by that idea,” the singer began.

“Because there was a time in my life where I would have said, ‘There’s no recovering from this. You know, this is going to be my life.’ I’m always writing about recovery once a week,” he continued to say. “I mean, there’s always one song out of five each week that touches on my story or someone else’s.”
