More Detail:

CHRISTMAS UNDER THE NORTHERN LIGHTS is a marvelous Christmas romance on Great American Family that hits all the sweet spots, including the rare credit given to God as the reason for the Christmas season.

Jill Wagner stars as Erin, a successful author of Urban History living in a big city. Her agent has lined up another book deal for her. The problem is that Erin has no inspiration, and time is running out on the offer. Meanwhile her aging, widowed father decides to go back to his hometown of Aurora to sell family property. He asks Erin to accompany him. She accepts in order to support her father, but she also hopes this trip away to see the Northern Lights will bring her out of her writer’s funk.

The father daughter duo are met in Aurora by Trevor, played by audience favorite, Jesse Hutch. Erin isn’t impressed with Trevor’s unconventional, minimalistic approach to giving a tour. However, Trevor reassures her he’s the real deal who can hear when the Northern Lights are actually going to be visible. She protests with her up-to-date “tracking app.”

However, Erin’s father, Doug, steps in and convinces Erin to give Trevor a chance. Trevor takes Erin and Doug on a very personal, small town tour, complete with his homemade cookies. Doug reconnects with a beautiful high school classmate. So, he politely excuses himself from the touring.

Days pass and Erin still hasn’t seen the Northern Lights. However, Trevor entertains Erin and shares his belief in the real light of Christmas, Jesus. Meanwhile, Erin discovers the importance of her family history.

Tensions rise, however, when Erin loses her patience with Trevor’s “old-school” tour tactics. In her attempt to bring him up-to-date with a modern way of conducting his business, she may have convinced him to quit altogether.
