More Detail:

UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN seems to be a thinly veiled, homosexual love story with a few heterosexual elements. The main character, Francis, is a professor and a book reviewer, whose best friends are lesbians expecting a baby. Suddenly, Francis’ husband divorces her, and she is forced to re-evaluate her life. Her friends send her on a homosexual tour of Italy, where she decides to buy a house in Tuscany. She tells the real estate agent that her wish is to have a wedding at the house, cook for a lot of people, and have a family at the house. After she asks an Italian stud to fornicate with her and pursues a statuesque, promiscuous blonde woman named Catherine, her wishes come true. Her Polish workman falls in love with a neighboring girl, and they have a wedding at the house, her homosexual friend moves in with her baby so she has a “family,” and she gets to cook for the neighborhood. Although she keeps looking for meaning in sex, she doesn’t seem to find much meaning, even though she gets all her wishes.

UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN is a depressing movie. It is generally immoral, and Francis, the lead character, is clueless about what makes life worthwhile. Although there are references to the Virgin Mary, faith, Catholicism, and Methodism, they seem to impact nobody’s life. In fact, Francis seems like she really wants to have a lesbian relationship rather than keep looking for love in men. The movie also has some very dumb lines in it. Diane Lane has trouble acting in the film and spends more time posing. The music is forgettable. Even the photography doesn’t do justice to the beautiful Tuscan countryside.

UNDER THE TUSCAN SUN shows that homosexuality has had a major impact on Hollywood movies. Liberals might condemn us for pushing our morality on homosexuals, but why are homosexuals pushing their morality on us?
