Candace Cameron Bure discussed the difficulty of finding a firm foundation and the freedom that comes when someone places their identity in the Lord.
“Finding our identity can often be difficult, especially when we’re younger, we’re trying to figure out who we are. I think with time and wisdom, it becomes a little bit clearer, maybe a little bit easier…” Bure told the “Jesus Calling” podcast. “Over the years, after I had our daughter Natasha and our two boys, Lev and Maks, I really started digging deeply into the Word of God and understanding that my identity isn’t in my occupation, who I know, or how much money I have. My identity is rooted in Christ, that I am the daughter of the King.”
“[I need] to go back to that every single day of my life knowing that’s who I am at the core and that is my purpose in life,” the Great American Family actress continued. “My purpose is to glorify God in all that I do. So no matter what I accomplish, no matter whether I have a family or not, or I climb a corporate ladder, or how much money I have or don’t have, those are all circumstantial and they are secondary to who I am in my identity as a human being.”

This strong foundation in the Lord has become extremely apparent through her work as Bure focuses on bringing faith-based stories to life. She joined Great American Family in 2022 to further that goal and work at an explicitly Christian company delivering audiences uplifting content.
“It absolutely is representing family,” Bure said of the network when it was first getting started. “It’s representing faith, which is a really big component. They are going to move much more forward in the faith content, and having both — still having lots of movies, rom-coms and Christmas movies that don’t involve faith, but also ones that really do. I think that’s that’s going to be a big difference in Great American Family channel, as well as patriotic content.”
Meanwhile, Bure has also used her platform to share the gospel and encourage her fans to connect with the Lord and in their faith walk.
“This Bible is designed to move you one step closer to Jesus each and every day and my heart hopes it does just that!” Bure previously explained. “His Word is lamp unto my feet — It’s where I find my confidence, my peace, my joy, and my prayer is that you would also find yours every time you open your Bible.”
As Bure continues to be a shining light in the entertainment industry, it is encouraging to see that she truly cares about her faith and has a strong foundation in the Lord, which she tries to pass on to her fans every single day.
